
History
Established in the year 1903 as a Guru Talim Institute (GT) during pre independence period ,in the western most part of undivided Sambalpur district , under the jurisdiction of the then Madhyapradesh state, DIET Bargarh has gone through different phases of evolution and transformation in the name of Elementary Training School(ET) in the year 1936, Basic Training School(BT) in the year 1948 and Secondary Training School (STS) in the year 1969. Subsequently, in the process of its long journey ST school was upgraded to District Institute of Education and Training (DIET)in the year 2005 vide Govt. Notification no.10701SME Date.25/05/2005. Eventually, the Institute was shifted from the Bargarh town to Patharla situated at a distance of about 10KM from the district headquarter towards Raipur road in NH-6. The new DIET building was inaugurated in the year 2009.
Vission
- To Provide Academic and Resource Support to the elementary sector for the continuous quality improvement.
- The institute performs a wide range of academic activities with the idea of development of complete personality self-discipline, spirit of cooperation, innovation ideas, scientific temper and missionary zeal which are the necessary part of studies.
- To develop district academic plan and monitoring the quality of school and teaching.
